Kotka's coastal waters offer excellent opportunities for rod fishing, which ever your target: sea trout, pike or salmon.
In courtesy of the province-wide angling license the fishing waters are vast and sparsely occupied. Even very close to the town you can find several peaceful and seldom fished areas.
Sea trout is found towards east, in the direction of Kuutsalo and Kirkonmaa, towards west, near the southern islands and crags of Äyspää and slightly further on the edge of the open sea by the island of Kaunissaari.
The salmon trollers head on to the open sea, often south of Kirkonmaa.
Pikes are found both in the inner bays as well as by rock clusters surfacing near deep water.
